Tour should start on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday. If your arrival is on a different day, please let us know to customize it.
Day 1: Arrival
We welcome you to sunny Belize. One of our expert drivers will take you to your hotel in Belize City.
Day 2: Altun Ha and Wildlife River Rafting
A professional guide will pick you up at your hotel for taking you to a 45 minute drive en route to the Maya Ruins of Altun Ha (Maya for "Rock Stone Water"). There you will find the famous Jade Head of "Kinich Ahau" which was uncovered by Dr. David Pendergast of the Royal Ontario Museum. Altun Ha was once a major trading center linking the Maya on the Caribbean with the Central American mainland Maya.
After lunch, we will will invite you to board around a river raft for wildlife viewing. As you float downstream along the Olde Belize River, the guide will be pointing out the prolific bird life and flora & fauna. Eyes will be peeled searching for crocodiles along the riverbank, and howler monkeys in the trees above. Manatees and dolphins are also sometimes spotted. Once the logging and commercial highway of Belize, the river contrasts between small settlements and stretches where the feeling is one of remoteness, perhaps even discovery.
Overnight in Belize City.
Day 3: Belize Zoo and Jaguar Paw
We will take you on a ride from Belize City to Cayo District. On the way you will visit The Belize Zoo. Here you will find a lot of wildlife. The zoo was created when a group of animals were left over from a documentary and desperately needed a home. Since then, the zoo has become a home for orphaned animals, those born in the zoo, and gifts from other organizations. The cages are not the traditional boxes you might expect in a zoo. The habitat for each animal or group of animals is kept natural with the surroundings and the roaming area is spacious. This is best for the animals, so we need to be patient to see them, as many like to hide or sleep.
After the visit to the zoo, you will continue your way and will have another stop at the Jaguar Paw property, where will experience a great cave tubing adventure. You will be crossing the clear blue caves branch river and hike through the jungle led by one of the local experienced guides. After about an hour you will get into the river with your inner tubes and begin your ride through the cave tunnels back to the originating point. At this same location you will experience the canopy tour and have a great adventure from tree to tree in zip lines.
Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 4: Caracol

This day you will visit the Caracol Mayan Site. This is a Classic Period complex, covering 30-square miles of thick, high-canopy jungle, and includes five plazas, an astronomic observatory and over 35,000 buildings which have been identified. The loftiest among them, a massive pyramid (Caana) which is capped by three temples and rises over 140 feet above the jungle floor.
Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 5: Actun Tunichil Muknal
Early in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel for being transferred to the starting point of the tour, from where you will have to hike for about 45 minutes up to the entrance of the cave, there are three river crossing on the way. Actun Tunichil Muknal means "Cave of the Stone Sepulcher". This is one of the most impressive caves in the Maya Lowland.
To get into the cave, you will enter the river and swim into the mouth inside the cave. During the next half mile you will wade, hike, and swim inside the cave. Once deeply inside, climb out of the water up a pile of rocks and scramble on to a ledge in the cave. From there, access to the "Cavern" where you will find many of artifacts that centuries ago were left as offers and sacrifices to gods.
Overnight in San Ignacio.
Day 6: Departure
We will transfer you back to Belize City Airport for you to take your flight back home.
